“When you build a high-quality home and somebody puts their faith in you, and then their children come back 14 or 15 years later and next thing you know you’re building their home—that’s a good feeling. When clients walk through our door and ask us what we build, we say it can be anything from a ranch to a very complex two-story. Modular is simply a method of construction.

These homes are built like a tank. They have to travel on a carrier and be lifted by two straps through the air and placed onto a basement. So we are overbuilt; we weigh more per square foot. The lumber grade and type of construction is scrutinized at the factory level on jigs with very precise engineering, so the energy efficiency is exceptional as well. It’s built to local site-built codes, so it has to be approved in any state and local municipality. A modular factory by its nature is typically more customizable.

‘We were really happy with the home, especially when it came time to get it done. They put it in place, they did everything. All I needed to do was get off work and go, “Wow, look at the progress!” You would be shocked by the construction of the homes. Our electric bills have been very, very low.’

Rochester Homes is a modular home manufacturer. Part of the beauty of modular manufacturing is that our team members get to repeat their processes and systems quite often, so they get to be experts. We’ve been doing business with Kevin Satewaite and Pine Ridge Homes for over 10 years. Kevin’s got expertise in the industry because he’s done it so long. Where we have to say ‘no’ for our production line, Kevin will complete that part on-site to make that customer feel like that’s really what they wanted to customize.

We’ve been here over 25 years with a staff second to none. You can sit down in a relaxed atmosphere with our sales consultants and go from drawing in Chief Architect software all the way to picking out final colors, supply catalogs, and displays under one roof. When we order your home, it’s a sigh of relief. We do a formal walkthrough, professionally clean the home, hand over keys, and go over paperwork. We build every house like it’s our own.

‘I had been talking to another contractor, and the bottom line came out 33% more than quoted. As a retiree, I couldn’t afford that. I went over to Pine Ridge in Vandalia and walked in. Kevin said, “We can fix that.” Kevin and Pine Ridge are my heroes; they built me a beautiful home, and I could trust him every bit of the way.’

Ritz-Craft is a multi-generational, family-owned company. What a homeowner should expect is the love our workforce put into the home from drafting to operations. Kevin is a student of the housing industry as a whole, attending the International Builders Show to bring the latest products and technology to South Central Illinois home buyers.

People State Bank has worked with Pine Ridge Homes for several years. From a lender’s perspective, cost overruns are a moot point because Pine Ridge is spot-on with their pricing.

Kevin started 30 years ago with that same passion today. A lot of the integrity we stress here at Pine Ridge comes from being raised in the church and with a close-knit family. Jesus taught treating one another as you wish to be treated, being honest, and having utmost credibility. When people walk through our door, we want them to feel loved, respected, and know they can put their trust in us.”
